Project Manager

Bergan Architectural Woodworking is a manufacturer of premium custom woodworking for commercial construction projects from New York to Boston. Since 1976, we have focused on delivering the highest quality product to our customers.

We have an open position for an experienced project manager of custom woodwork projects. As custom manufacturers, every day brings a new challenge. We are looking for someone who can adapt and problem solve in a positive and professional manner. We are constantly looking for new ways to work more efficiently and accurately using the latest technology, so in addition to keeping projects moving smoothly, we expect you to be an active member of improving internal processes to better serve our clients and to make our workdays more pleasant.

Experience:

Five or more years of project management for an architectural woodworking company.

• Read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
• Work efficiently in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
• Work with PDFs in Bluebeam
• Woodwork shop or installation experience is a plus
• Knowledge of AWI QCP and experience working on QCP certified projects
• Knowledge of LEED and FSC requirements and experience working on these types of projects

Responsibilities:

Submittals

• Request, send and track material submittals
• Oversee accurate shop drawings, submit and obtain approvals

Project Management

• Handle all aspects of a project from hand-off from estimating through closeout documents
• Coordinate changes with the estimator
• Maintain project schedules
• Work with shop foreman to maintain project and production schedules
• Make site visits. Most of our projects are between New Haven and Greenwich. You may be asked to visit jobsites early mornings and late nights, occasionally.
• All interactions with clients, vendors and internal Bergan employees is to be handled with the utmost professionalism
• Create and track RFIs for every project
• Work with LEED/FSC coordinator to provide LEED/FSC paperwork when required
• Drive project success by reaching and exceeding project goal metrics

Purchasing

• Track items to be purchased
• Ensure material is coordinated with shop production and project schedules

Business Management

• Work with business management to constantly improve processes
• Take part in the hiring process for shop and office employees
