Bergan Architectural Woodworking is a manufacturer of premium custom woodworking for commercial construction projects from New York to Boston. Since 1976, we have focused on delivering the highest quality product to our customers.
We have an open position for an experienced estimator of custom woodwork projects. As custom manufacturers, every day brings a new challenge. We are looking for someone who can adapt and problem solve in a positive and professional manner. All estimating is done on-screen. We are constantly looking for new ways to work more efficiently and accurately using the latest technology.

Experience:
Five or more years of estimating for an architectural woodworking company.
• Read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
• Work efficiently in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
• Work with PDFs in Bluebeam
• Woodwork shop or installation experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Pre-Bid process
• Respond to Invitations to Bid
• Enter project information into Bergan’s database
• Download files and maintain an up-to-date and orderly electronic file folder for each project
• Make strategic decisions about projects to pursue based on schedule and fit with Bergan’s strengths
Project Take-off
• Review plans, specifications, pre-bid addenda and any other documentation
• Maintain up-to-date material pricing and subcontractor pricing
• Perform on-screen take-off using Bluebeam software
• Import raw data into Excel
• Finely tune the estimate
• Review bid with VP
• Submit bid to client
Follow-up
• Maintain contact with client after the bid was submitted, driving towards project award
• Hit key metrics including monthly sales goals
Post-Award
• Assemble all paperwork and information for review before project Kick-off meeting
• Lead the Project Kick-off meeting to introduce the project to the Project Manager, Owner, and Production Personnel
• Price change orders during the lifetime of the project
