A Culture Built On Improvement

Bergan Architectural Woodworking was started by Richard T. Bergan in 1976, in his parent’s garage in Middletown, CT.

In the early 80’s, Rich attended a trade show where he witnessed the established machinery and hardware leaders smoking cigars in their empty booths, while attendees crowded the booths featuring machinery for the new European style of cabinetry. The European style was a clear improvement on the centuries old process of building cabinets. After that event, Rich transformed his operation to build in the European style.

It is that founding ethos that continues to guide the company today. We combine our deep industry experience with new ways of building to tackle the latest challenges.
